Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) in many cases is the only practical non-destructive method available to locate non-metallic or non-conductive utilities such as cast iron, PVC or other plastic pipes, concrete, and various composite pipelines.
The successful detection and mapping of underground utilities involves the combination of several techniques with the results synthesised to a single interpreted plot. GPR is rarely the only survey solution to a need but is much more likely to be used as part of a combination approach to deliver the required outcomes.
