In October 2019, we were commissioned by Kier Highways to assist with the setting out of new kerb lines, drainage and general infrastructure for Cycleway 4: TfL’s vision of delivering a clearer and safer route for cycling on roads within Bermondsey, Rotherhithe, Deptford and Greenwich.

In order to enable accurate development of the scheme’s proposed safer London cycle routes, we carried out general setting out duties as well as as-built surveys and on-site engineering surveying consultation.
We also dedicated one Surveyor to work full time, throughout the 9-month long project, within the Kier Highways set-up. This ensured that we were able to properly service our client’s needs, as on-hand expertise was always readily available for them.
As a company, we pride ourselves on collecting and supplying quality data, and we ensure this by utilising Trimble 1″ instruments, Leica Sprinter Digital Level and SCC Survey Software for millimetre accurate positioning. To avoid any input errors, all coordinates are uploaded digitally to a site controller.

The Results
As well as delivering high accuracy survey data that Kier Highways and TfL can rely upon, we were pleased to develop a close working relationship between client and contractor, which ensured the smooth-running of this project.
