We are looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join our finance team in Leeds. This position offers an exciting opportunity to manage our sales ledger, credit control processes, and collaborate with internal teams. Role Overview:
As a Credit Controller in Leeds, you’ll be responsible for managing sales ledger activities, issuing invoices, processing payments, and handling credit control functions. This is a key role within our finance department, offering great opportunities for professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Ledger Management:
Oversee and manage all aspects of the sales ledger, including invoicing, processing credit notes, and ensuring accurate customer payments. - Credit Control:
Take charge of credit control activities by issuing reminders, statements, and 7-day demands to ensure timely payments from customers. - Collaboration with Internal Teams:
Work with project managers and finance staff to ensure accurate invoicing and resolution of any customer queries. - Month-End Reconciliation:
Reconcile the sales ledger with the nominal ledger and project management system during month-end. - Supporting Reporting & Tasks:
Assist with month-end reporting, including credit card transactions, prepayments, and depreciation journals. Support with inter-group recharges and cash pooling tasks. - Compliance & Audit Support:
Ensure all processes comply with internal credit control procedures and assist in internal audits.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a credit control role (preferred).
- Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping (through study or practical experience).
- Familiarity with Sage accounting systems (desirable).
- Strong communication skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Professionalism and ability to meet deadlines.
